Subject: Quartz Wall Clock Test at 15:11:22, Sat Aug 12, 2017

Testing the stability of a quartz wall clock to see how much drift in time it has. The Raspberry Pi uses NTP so taking the pictures every hour using a cron job which calls fswebcam to take a bunch of frames. Occasionally a shadow of the seconds hand can be seen as it changed from one second to the next when the frames were being captured.

Subject: Spring Barley timelapse at 16:0:6, Tue Jul 4, 2017

Currently sprouting barley. I put the seeds into the plastic pot in a progression. The back row first, a while before rolling the cam, just to make sure the stuff sprouts. Then row 2 and then row 3, closest to the front, seeded just when row 2 was coming up.

Subject: Spring onions timelapse at 12:59:51, Tue Jun 6, 2017

Currently creating a timelapse of spring onions sprouting. I bought them, cut off the green for cooking, put them in water and saw a bit of new green growth from the stubs and potted them after a week. I waited to see if they would be viable. I will most likely run the timelapse through part of June 2017 to get about 30-60 seconds of video.

Subject: Code Repository at 17:2:33, Wed Nov 23, 2016

As I have gotten interest in code, I have made a spot on this site.
Code Repository
Look at the README.txt file in Code Repository for starters.
Feel free reach out and contact me with any questions or requests. I have a contact link on the main page of this site.

Subject: Added text to indicate which readings are indoor and outdoor at 13:25:22, Thu Oct 20, 2016

I added some header text to indicate which readings on the front page are from the indoor temperature sensor, BME280 and which ones are from the outdoor temperature sensors, DHT22.

Subject: Outdoor Temperature Sensor Running at 19:39:46, Fri Sep 23, 2016

Finally got the DHT22 temp and humidity sensor running with OK readings. It is the second set of readings on the main page. The data sets without barometric pressure. Getting it to work required lowering the pullup resistor to 2 3.3K's in parallel, on about 25ft of cable. Too high of pullup resistance gives bogus or no readings from DHT22 sensor over a long cable.

Subject: Plantain Timelapse: Long term time lapse at 17:34:33, Tue Nov 10, 2015

After the Bonsai failed to emerge from the ground, tried a new project.
Started on 10/12/2015, capturing ripening Plantain, from green fruit to black. One frame taken every other hour, even hours. Had a few glitchy ones when the sunlight beams into the room at 14:00. Had to delete them. Set up the creation of a timelapse AVI at 12 fps to show how it ripens.

Subject: Cherry Blossom Bonsai Long Term Timelapse Capture at 20:27:30, Mon Aug 24, 2015

Currently the camera is taking pictures of a Cherry Blossom Bonsai Tree sprouting. This is a long term capture, several months, running 2 frames per day, taken at 8AM and 8PM. The video on the site will be 4 frames per second. The bonsai kit comes from Eve's Garden Gifts Land O' Lakes FL www.evesgardengifts.com

Subject: Pumpkin Cam at 17:18:50, Sun Jun 28, 2015

Currently taking 1 frame per hour of a pumpkin seedling. The seedling sprouted a few weeks ago from a seed that came from a pumpkin throw on a compost pile. Most of the seeds sprouted and were moved. I will follow the progress of the plant until it gets too big for sitting on the desk.

Subject: SCOBY Cam at 12:2:49, Fri Jun 12, 2015

Currently running the camera taking pictures of a Kombucha SCOBY that is forming. This will make for an interesting timelapse video. The setup is behind the PC monitor with a desk lamp and camera pointing towards the back of the desk. This gives fairly steady ambient lighting. I am "growing" a few SCOBY's for the Fermentation Class that will be held June 29th.

Subject: USB Camera under test at 21:23:42, Thu May 14, 2015

Currently testing out a USB Camera, trying to get the brightness levels right. Plus the camera takes a while to "settle down" so I am dropping a bunch of frames. Found out on the Raspberry Pi, I have to reset the USB bus for the camera because it will hangup with a nasty kernel error = (May 14 17:00:30 raspberrypi kernel: [63856.176535] gspca_main: ISOC data error: [27] len=0, status=-71). Currently the cam is taking pics of a mechanical clock after the bugs get worked out it will run on a plant sprouting from seed.
